{"id":1025,"date":"2013-02-13T11:04:31","date_gmt":"2013-02-13T16:04:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chrisbaer.net\/mp\/?p=1025"},"modified":"2023-08-05T09:43:01","modified_gmt":"2023-08-05T13:43:01","slug":"royal-mail-fa-stamps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chrisbaer.net\/mp\/2013\/02\/13\/royal-mail-fa-stamps\/","title":{"rendered":"Three Lions, Eleven Stamps: Royal Mail to Issue Football Association Anniversary Stamps"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Leave it to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.royalmail.com\">Royal Mail<\/a> to issue another brilliant stamp series, this time <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20130320021219\/http:\/\/www.royalmail.com\/personal\/stamps-and-collecting\/football-heroes\">in honor of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Football Association and featuring an all-UK top 11<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.royalmail.com\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/chrisbaer.net\/mp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/rmfootballstamp.jpg?resize=618%2C240&#038;ssl=1\" style=\"display:block; margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto;\" alt=\"Football Heroes via the Royal Mail\" title=\"Football Heroes via the Royal Mail\" border=\"0\" width=\"618\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s great to see the lineup depicted at the peak of their individual careers (especially Keegan&#8217;s curly locks!) There&#8217;s understandably a bias towards the 1966 World Cup-winning team, but it&#8217;s hard to much argue about the selection: Gordon Banks, George Best, Bobby Charlton, among other stellar names.
